Frequently Asked Questions

  • Nope. We fund and produce each film, and never take a dollar from the startups. Occasionally we’ll receive sponsorship from mission-aligned partners, but this funding never encroaches on the editorial of the content and will be clearly noted at the beginning of the film and in the description.

  • First and foremost, the startup needs to be focused on solving a major climate issue. We tend to focus on startups with some early traction, a hard tech/visual focus, and a clear impact on decarbonization.

  • We’re not the experts, so we tap into a wide network of accelerators, nonprofits, investors, universities and research groups to provide feedback, suggestions and guidance on our selection process. As storytellers, we rely on the specialists to the kick the tires on the science. We also try to tell different stories on a broad range of problems. There’s hundreds of companies working on microbility, alt proteins and carbon removal, we don’t have the capacity to tell every story. We also look for diverse founders and unique origin stories, as often these startups bring an underrepresented perspective to climate.

  • Since we launched this series, the films have generated over 3M unique views across platforms. But importantly, companies have been able to fundraise new capital, reach hiring candidates and better tell their story to the general public.
