Kip Pastor, Founder & CEO
Kip is an innovative and award-winning filmmaker - producing viral traditional and digital content that have generated billions of views. He has directed and produced feature films, documentaries, and commercials that have played theatrically, on television, and worldwide, including In Organic We Trust, Sickhouse, 60 Second Docs, and How to Stop a Pipeline. Most recently, Kip was the EVP of Production at Indigenous Media, a next-gen studio founded by Jon Avnet and Rodrigo Garcia. He is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America, a board member of FEAST, and an advisory board member of the WunderGlo Foundation. Having traveled and explored extensively, Kip finds inspiration in places outside of his comfort zone. He believes that filmmaking is the most effective medium to disseminate big ideas and affect real change.

Hana Leshner, VP of Production & Development
Hana is a seasoned producer, writer, and director with more than 13 years of experience creating documentary, branded, and commercial content for a multitude of platforms from theatrical to broadcast to digital. She has produced on feature documentaries including the theatrically released Waiting for Lightning, worked for industry media giants including Univision and Viacom where she oversaw a multiyear branded digital series, and worked with iconic brands such as Nike, Apple, BMW and REI. She has directed documentaries focused on social justice issues ranging from immigration to LGBT families. Hana is excited about the evolution of storytelling in the digital space and seeks new ways to inspire audiences and bring them into dialogue on important issues.

Shayna Berglas, Social & Communications Manager
Shayna is a science communicator who is eager to tell compelling and positive stories in the climate space. Having been passionate about environmental conservation from a young age, Shayna began her career by volunteering with several small environmental nonprofits such as the Ocean Blue Project. Berglas previously worked at the YEARS Project, where she produced interesting environmental narratives that reached millions of viewers. Shayna earned her BA in Marketing and Business from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Masters in Environmental Science and Policy with a focus on Climate and Energy from Johns Hopkins. She believes that utilizing positive and proactive storytelling (with an occasional hint of humor) is the best way to bring individuals and institutions to the climate fight!

Hazel Thayer, Host
Hazel is a climate activist, radical optimist, and former amateur standup comedian. She focuses on using people power to spread awareness for, and demand, effective political & economic solutions to climate change. Armed with a BA in Economics and an honorary PhD in Googling, she searches for the latest and most effective policies and economic solutions to make the world a better place for both humans and ecosystems, then boils them down to make them understandable and interesting, and communicates them through short, fun videos optimized for a TikTok attention span. Hazel believes the most effective action against climate change is learning about the solutions, talking about them, and demanding them.

Dez McGill, Host
Dez is an energetic, charismatic, and passionate advocate for planet earth. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and is dedicated to a career in fighting climate change. Dez is currently completing her fellowship, Climate Change: Learn for Action, with Terra.do.
Through her lens, she helps people understand what is happening in the world around them and provides options for sustainability. Dez’s goal is to help encourage others to start their own sustainability journey and ultimately be a part of the fight to heal planet earth together.
You can find Dez on social media as @Earthtodezz communicating the importance of climate change and sustainability. Dez also enjoys spending time and planning adventures with her rescue dog, Luna.

Shafaq Zia, Editor & News Curator
Shafaq Zia is a science and health journalist eager to communicate complex scientific ideas to the lay public. She discovered her love for science writing during her time at Northwestern University, where she pursued a degree in journalism and served as the managing editor of the campus newspaper, The Daily Q. After completing a master’s in Science Writing from MIT, Shafaq is excited to put her skills to good use by covering climate science. She believes that empowering vulnerable local communities to build climate solutions is an integral step in our fight against climate change.

Nathan Ratledge, Climate Tech Advisor
Nathan has been a leader in the energy and climate space for 15 years. He is a former Executive Director of the Community Office for Resource Efficiency and Co-founder of Apogee EP, and an economics and policy consulting firm based in Washington, DC. He has worked at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, during the Obama Administration, and at Resources for the Future, a resource economics thinks tank. He holds an MPA from Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs and is currently finishing a mid-career PhD at Stanford University, where his research focuses on energy economics and finance. He believes that rapid climate tech deployment will make for a healthier, happier future for everyone.

Mike Dorsey, Advisor
Mike was a Co-Founder and COO of DataFox, a B2B cloud analytics business which was acquired by Oracle in 2018, where he became VP of Product Management in Oracle’s AI applications group. Prior to DataFox, he co-founded ServiceDirect, a fast growing B2B software platform in the home improvement industry. Mike received an MBA and an MS Engineering focused on energy and clean tech from Stanford. Prior to Stanford, he studied international economics and politics in various countries (Egypt, Argentina, France, and Mongolia) where he gained an appreciation for the interplay between energy, natural resources, and economic growth. He is now focused on investing in and advising companies in AI, enterprise software, and clean tech.

John Zhang is a results-driven marketing & digital executive, delivering breakthrough campaigns that have garnered multi-billion views and acclaim. As the Head of Growth at Starts With Us, he's building a movement to foster curiosity, compassion and courage to overcome the polarization threatening our society. Previously, as EVP Marketing at Indigenous, John oversaw marketing, audience development, digital media and distribution -- launching the Webby award-winning series 60 Second Docs from 0 to 7.6 billion video views and 11 million followers in 5 years. Prior to Indigenous, Zhang served as VP Marketing at DanceOn, spearheading Silento's Watch Me (Whip/NaeNae) #WatchMeDanceOn campaign, which leveraged a network of influencers to create original dance videos generating billions of views and resulting in the Top Global Trending YouTube Video of 2015.

Jake Levine, Climate Policy Advisor
Jake serves as the Chief Climate Officer at U.S. International Development Finance.
Previously, Jake was as an attorney at Covington & Burling, advising clients on a broad range of policy, regulatory, litigation, and commercial matters related to climate, clean energy, and clean air. Prior to joining Covington, Levine was Senior Counsel and Principal Consultant to California State Senator Fran Pavley, where he led the successful campaign to draft, design, and enact landmark climate and environmental justice legislation in California. Jake also served as Chief of Staff to the President of Opower, Inc. (Oracle Utilities). Jake also worked in the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change in the Obama Administration. He serves on the Board of Grid Alternatives of Los Angeles, and as Advisor to the California Climate Action Corps.

John Kim, Advisor
John Kim is a co-founder of Amasia, a thesis-driven venture capital firm with offices in the Bay Area and Singapore. At Amasia, they work with founders building companies in our current thesis area: fighting the climate crisis and enhancing sustainability, through behavior change.
He started his career as an entrepreneur, founding music internet and e-consulting businesses before joining Merck & Co as a Systems Specialist. He left Merck to start his third company, a Delaware incorporated rock band called The Ally. He had the chance to tour around the US and collaborate with top artists across the US and Korea, perhaps most notably receiving a platinum record for his contribution to an album with Grammy Award winner, Brandy.
He spent the next 10 years managing trading and investment strategies across multiple asset classes for Goldman Sachs, Korean National Investments and Mercuria Energy Group.
Over the years he has been affiliated with various organizations at the intersection of entrepreneurship and education. He’s a Kauffman Fellow, a member of the Young Presidents Organization and sits on the advisory board for The Choson Exchange, a non-profit focused on training entrepreneurs in North Korea. He’s also a lay preacher and board member at his church, Solomon’s Porch Singapore.

Dhruv Singh, Advisor
Dhruv is Managing Partner of DEWS Holdings. Dhruv is a serial entrepreneur, previously a (co) founder/owner at Aktivate, Bezant Tech, Savory, and Exubrancy. He has served as a board member/advisor to a number of venture backed businesses across sectors and shareholder in dozens of startups. Prior to focusing on early stage companies, Dhruv was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company (New York), spending substantial time in the tech/media/telecom sector. Dhruv is also a board advisor at GiveDirectly and at Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College. He also studied at Wharton and the engineering school at UPenn as a part of the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology and Choate Rosemary Hall. He lives in Tuxedo Park, NY with his wife Elizabeth (who is also an entrepreneur!) and daughters Emilia (Milly) and Serena.
